The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Malaysia in conjunction with the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur invite guests to dine on a feast of authentic Venezuelan dishes prepared by celebrity chef Tamara Rodriguez at the Venezuelan Gastronomic Festival 2017. This marks the twelve Venezuelan Week in Malaysia, a series of events aimed at fostering relationships and sharing art and culture of the Venezuelan people.Venezuelan Gastronomic Festival 2017

At the Venezuelan Gastronomic Festival 2017 guests can look forward to trying comfort foods of the nation showcasing dishes from the diverse landscape from the mountains, to the grassland plains to the sea. Some don’t-miss items are the arepas, an unleavened corn bread eaten plain or stuffed with any assortment of fillings; the pastel de platano, a kind of lasagna made with fried bananas; tequeños, fried cheese sticks; chef Tamara’s speciality, stuffed chicken with a chocolate sauce; and for dessert, some of Tamara’s handcrafted chocolates made with cacao grown in Malaysia are a must.

As the festival’s first night was last night, there are only six days left to take advantage of this promotion so I leave you with some photos, rather than a detailed post, in the hope that you’ll have time to go by and try some authentic Venezuelan dishes yourself.
