Rue De Paris (RDP) Café Boulangerie recently joined the culinary landscape at Avenue K with its soft launch in December 2023. As an extension of Ultime Atelier & Boulangerie in Bukit Bintang, RDP brings the same commitment to quality and authenticity, focusing on artisanal French boulangerie and pâtisserie.
Ultime has gained a reputation for its exceptional French boulangerie bread, crafted with Candia French butter, which is naturally 5% creamier and adds a rich depth of flavour to their baked goods. The popularity of these baked goods inspired owner Kenny Ng to create RDP, allowing more customers to enjoy the renowned breads and pastries.
Rue De Paris Café Boulangerie Menu
Rue De Paris Café Boulangerie offers an all-day dining menu featuring a variety of savoury dishes and exquisite pastries.
Assorted Breads and Pastries
A diverse selection of breads and pastries are available throughout the day. You can choose from croissants, sourdoughs, baguettes, brioches, faluche, rolls, tarts, and cakes.
The beautiful croissants are some of the highlights at Rue De Paris Café Boulangerie, which has traditional, crown, cube, and even trending flat croissants. Top of the list is the eye-catching crown croissants – thick, broad cylinders in various flavours, such as Strawberry (RM16) and White Chocolate (RM13). They look so pretty lined up together.
Flat Croissants (starting at RM 10) are more than just a trend on TikTok; they’re an innovative way to use day-old pastries. The pastry is flattened, producing a thin, crispy texture reminiscent of a cracker. This version lacks the fluffy centre of a regular croissant and is often dipped in colourful-flavoured icing. While not offering global appeal, this novelty has a distinct texture, attracting those who enjoy exploring unconventional food trends.
Possibly more tempting, though, are Rue De Paris Café Boulangerie’s Croissant Loaves. In the shape of a perfect cube with stacks of wafer-thin layers and a swirl of colour in the middle, they’re almost too pretty to eat. Prices start at RM5 for two pieces of Butter Mini Loaf and go up to RM 25 for the Truffle Croissant Loaf. The cubes also come in medium sizes, filled with rich, creamy fillings such as Chocolate Royale (RM15) and Matcha Pistachio (RM16).
All-You-Can-Eat Bread Buffet Breakfast
For early risers, the All-You-Can-Eat Bread Buffet Breakfast, priced at RM18 per person, is a must-try. It’s served from 8 am to 11 am and includes a selection of artisanal French boulangerie bread, such as croissants, sourdoughs, baguettes, brioche toast, faluche, and many more, served with their flavourful and creamy butter. Drinks are an additional charge, but both coffee and freshly squeezed juices are of high quality.
Breakfast Sourdough Toast
Rue De Paris Café Boulangerie’s sourdough toast range is another highlight, featuring wonderfully flavourful and chewy sourdough bread as the base for various toppings.
The crowd favourite was the Mushroom Toast (RM 14), which came topped with generous servings of yummy mushrooms. Avocado toast lovers will be pleased to try their Smashed Avocado and Poached Egg Toast (RM 20), which ticks all the boxes to make it a high-quality avocado breakfast option.
Notable Savoury Main Dishes
During our visit, we sampled several savoury mains and were most impressed by the Balado Beef Ijo (RM 36). It consists of tender beef chunks cooked in a mildly spicy gravy with an assortment of condiments and spices, perfectly paired with fluffy white rice. While it doesn’t look much in the photo, it was delicious.
The Lamb Rack (RM 30) was another standout. It featured a generous portion of tender and succulent meat atop fluffy couscous.
The Wagyu Burger (RM 45) was a crowd-pleaser. Pickles, vegetables, and sauces accompanied its juicy meat patty on a fluffy bun. A special mention should be made for the accompanying French fries, which remained crispy on the outside even after we’d let them turn cold.
Rue De Paris Café Boulangerie Drinks
Rue De Paris Café Boulangerie’s selection of drinks includes juices squeezed in-house, coffee made with beans from local roasters, and local artisan beverages. The Flat White (RM 11) was beautifully aromatic and delicious, while the Matcha Latte (RM13) was smooth and creamy with light vegetal notes. A subtle rose flavour accentuated the Rose Latte (RM14).
Of all the drinks, Wonderbrew’s Jun Tea (RM. 15) was our favourite – refreshing and tasty. The Wonderbrew Kombucha (RM 15) packed a tangy punch with passion fruit and mint notes. Lastly, the Blackcurrant Mojito (RM17) was both pretty and thirst-quenching.
