We hear Catch Beach Club before we see it – soft, driving beats of daytime house music, the clink of glasses filled with bubbly, peals of gentle laughter and upbeat conversation, and the ever-present swell of the ocean just within reach.
Catch Beach Club Sunday Brunch Phuket
We’ve arrived to indulge in Catch Beach Club’s famed Sunday brunch, served from 12 to 3 p.m. at THB 2,490 per person—including a bottle of white, rosé or red to keep spirits high. A live DJ sets the tempo, while masseuses ease the tension, and models showcase the latest swimwear with effortless flair. Add the sea breeze and those hypnotic views, and it’s safe to say—we’re more than ready for an afternoon well spent.
Expecting the usual brunch suspects, we’re pleasantly ambushed by a jaw-dropping spread of elevated fare instead. It’s a buffet in spirit—abundant, generous, and unlimited—but executed with style (and sanity). No jostling for tongs or questionable sneeze guards here; everything is artfully plated by the staff, so we can indulge freely without the fear of communal cutlery. Bathed in sunshine, with Bangtao Beach unfurling in both directions, we settle in, forks at the ready. There’s brunch to be had—and we’re not missing a bite.

Appetisers
We start off with a plate of cool and crunchy Caesar Salad. What immediately sets it apart is the lettuce being tossed extensively in a massive cheese wheel. “Would you like some lettuce to go with your cheese,” I ask myself rhetorically as I walk back to the table with a full plate in hand. Each bite has a resounding crunch and a decadent creaminess. We munch happily while watching the waves soak the sand.
Next, we try a bowl of the Grape Almond Gazpacho, a cooling dish elevated by edible flower petals and herb oil. Little slivered almonds are dotted throughout, adding some texture and a comforting nuttiness. Grapes balance it out with some tender sweetness. The little flower petals supply a dash of colour, and the herb oil adds an extra dimension to each spoonful.

We then reach for the Pan-seared Scallop with Cauliflower Puree and Lemon Sauce. The scallops are seared to perfection, maintaining a tender texture throughout. The cauliflower puree provides a creamy backdrop for delightfully swirling each bite. The lemon sauce gives a touch of zest that keeps things light and refreshing.
Looking almost too pretty to eat, the Crab Meat Mango Passionfruit is presented as a ring of fresh crab chunks with finely cubed passionfruit and mango, drizzled with a sweet sauce. It’s both eye-catching and mouthwatering, and we make quick work of it.
Our appetites sufficiently whetted, we create our own platter from the wide selection of fresh seafood on display. We grab some oysters and clams, large prawns, vibrant crabs, and some lemon wedges for good measure. The oysters are fresh and briny, and the clams are delightfully chewy with a dash of minerality. The juicy prawns are made even more delectable by dipping them into the tangy sauce on the side. Finally, we dig into the crabs and find them meaty, surprising us with their sweetness.
We notice a raclette station and, cheese being an official (as declared by myself) love language, are compelled to stop (for emotional support). We come away with a gooey mountain of melted raclette with gherkins, prosciutto, melon, and broccoli. In between prosciutto-wrapped bites of melon and florets of broccoli paired with raclette, we sigh in contentment as a gentle breeze blows in from the Andaman Sea.

Dessert
For dessert, we keep things simple: a plate of fresh fruit, chocolate pudding, and the obligatory mango sticky rice. Our time in Phuket has become the Olympics of fruit consumption, and we’re in full training mode. Sunny slices of mango, passionfruit, banana, rambutan and friends crowd our plates, and still, we’re insatiable. The mango sticky rice is a charming little number—perfectly ripe fruit nestled beside tender pearls of glutinous rice, gently kissed with sweet coconut cream. The chocolate pudding, while unassuming at first, hides decadent brownie chunks in its depths. Not to be outdone, we root around for slivered almonds to scatter on top, upping the texture game. It’s almost embarrassingly delicious—we go bite-for-bite to the very end.

Drinks Menu
Offering one bottle of wine per couple is a rather civilised approach—enough to enjoy without edging into questionable-decision territory. There’s always the option to order more, but it sidesteps the free-flow frenzy of trying to “get your money’s worth” at any cost. We opt for the Echeverria Cabernet Franc Rosé (2023), a Chilean drop from the Valle de Curicó. Bursting with notes of strawberry and white peach, its pale pink hue sets a decidedly rosy tone for our beachside breakfast.

Massage Bliss
Just when we think we’ve wrapped up dessert, the real treat arrives: complimentary head, neck and shoulder massages from Catch Beach Club’s resident masseuses. We sink into 15 minutes of bliss without even leaving our chairs as golden sunlight floods the deck and a live trumpeter riffs alongside the DJ, contributing to what can only be described as the beachification of Stevie Wonder.
