Casa del Mar Langkawi, Spanish, meaning home by the sea, isΒ as close to the beach as you can get. Walk out of your hotel room to find sandΒ in your toes and yourself mere paces to the shore. This luxury boutique hotelΒ is, in my opinion, the best place to stay on Pantai Cenang. Responsive, stylishΒ and primely located, Casa del Mar is an unbeatable retreat for a weekend sojourn.

Beach Essentials
Thoughtful and detail orientated, the team at Casa del Mar LangkawiΒ will make your stay an unforgettable one. The house made β€˜Halia Limau’ – aΒ fizzy refreshment made from sugar, ground ginger, fresh lime and house lemonade – paired with a moist scented towel and a soft spot on the sofa is just a hint
of what is to come. After check-in, your host will give you a guided tour ofΒ the facilities and room as your luggage magically appears in the wardrobe.
Fresh flowers, a brewing pot with ground coffee and tea leaves, hot chocolate,Β peanuts and orange biscuits await your arrival. After saying goodbye to yourΒ warm host you’ll discover more hidden treasures. An iPod docking station, DVDΒ player, pot pouri on your pillow, exfoliating bath mit, luxurious toiletries,Β beach towels and a hydrating essential oil spray for refreshment are just someΒ of the gems. Wine, champagne and martini glasses chaperoned with a cocktailΒ shaker will remind you to take advantage of the island’s duty free status. Your
own private garden courtyard with cushioned chairs, candles and sea views mightΒ be where you choose to imbibe on your tax-free liquor. An evening turn downΒ service brings a printed weather forecast for the following day and scentedΒ bookmark informing you of the benefits of what you are smelling. AromatherapyΒ candles are lit and a make up of the room leaves it tidy for your return.

Bubbly
The attention to minutia only continues when you wander theΒ boutique resort. Espresso machine, tea making facilities, library, board games,Β DVDs and books for loan can all be found in the common area. Tuesday eveningsΒ from 6:30 – 8pm hotel staff invite you to La Sal Cocktail Bar for a glass ofΒ bubbly or Carlsberg, a chance to hear from the locals about their favouriteΒ things to do on the island and, an opportunity to mingle with other guests.Β Regular happy hours run daily from 5 – 7pm and are the perfect way to prepareΒ for sunset and a beach dinner. Lounging by the pool, jacuzzi and sea you’ll be
pampered with ice cream, fruit and ice cold water. Facilities include aΒ basically equipped gym, spa, swimming pool and food and beverage outlet. MoreΒ to come on what to eat and drink at Casa del Mar in future postings.

  1. Beautiful… Feel so relaxed just looking at the photos. Ideal place to unwind and relax, I can see…

    • Does that happen to you too? Looking at a photo can make you feel relaxed or happy or whatever the mood it portrays. Perhaps that's why beach scenes are such popular screen savers on computers. πŸ™‚

  2. fly me there now!! the place looked fabulous and relaxing….

  3. i must stop reading the yum list whenever there's a 'langkawi' in the title. this is cruel temptation indeed! πŸ˜€ lovely resort though. looks like it could be in the caribbean or in the maldives or any other great exotic location =)

    • Hee! It's making me jealous of my "holiday self" doing the posting. I know how you feel. Only two weeks back at work and I already need a beach holiday. πŸ˜‰

  4. me and my friends would want to give you a standing ovation for all the remarkable posts on Langkawi. πŸ™‚ now we have the itch to fly to Langkawi straight away! looking forward to more Casa Del Mar posts.

  5. I think you just convinced me that this is where we need to stay during our visit to Langkawi in February. I agree that just looking at the photos is like therapy and it will probably be what gets me through every day at work until we're actually there. πŸ˜‰
We're travelling from Norway to visit Langkawi,Penang, KL and Singapore and this blog has already been so helpful. Thank you! πŸ™‚

    • Nina, What a lovely comment, thank you. I have lots of Penang tips too. Check out the Quick Getaways section at the top of the page. I do hope you enjoy your trip to South East Asia. πŸ™‚

    • I'm absolutely sure we will! I've actually just booked our stay at Casa del Mar as they were almost fully booked in February already. I'm so excited and confident we'll have an amazing time there.
Your Penang tips have already been of good help and Campbell House is on the top of my list of places to stay right now, even though the deluxe lagoon room at Hard Rock Hotel sure looks like fun! πŸ™‚

  6. Yes, the resort is the best place to stay if you spend your holiday in Langkawi Beach
