Casa del Mar Langkawi, Spanish, meaning home by the sea, is as close to the beach as you can get. Walk out of your hotel room to find sand in your toes and yourself mere paces to the shore. This luxury boutique hotel is, in my opinion, the best place to stay on Pantai Cenang. Responsive, stylish and primely located, Casa del Mar is an unbeatable retreat for a weekend sojourn.

Thoughtful and detail orientated, the team at Casa del Mar Langkawi will make your stay an unforgettable one. The house made ‘Halia Limau’ – a fizzy refreshment made from sugar, ground ginger, fresh lime and house lemonade – paired with a moist scented towel and a soft spot on the sofa is just a hint
of what is to come. After check-in, your host will give you a guided tour of the facilities and room as your luggage magically appears in the wardrobe.

Fresh flowers, a brewing pot with ground coffee and tea leaves, hot chocolate, peanuts and orange biscuits await your arrival. After saying goodbye to your warm host you’ll discover more hidden treasures. An iPod docking station, DVD player, pot pouri on your pillow, exfoliating bath mit, luxurious toiletries, beach towels and a hydrating essential oil spray for refreshment are just some of the gems. Wine, champagne and martini glasses chaperoned with a cocktail shaker will remind you to take advantage of the island’s duty free status. Your
own private garden courtyard with cushioned chairs, candles and sea views might be where you choose to imbibe on your tax-free liquor. An evening turn down service brings a printed weather forecast for the following day and scented bookmark informing you of the benefits of what you are smelling. Tuesday evenings from 6:30 – 8pm hotel staff invite you to La Sal Cocktail Bar for a glass of bubbly or Carlsberg, a chance to hear from the locals about their favourite things to do on the island and, an opportunity to mingle with other guests. Regular happy hours run daily from 5 – 7pm and are the perfect way to prepare for sunset and a beach dinner. Lounging by the pool, jacuzzi and sea you’ll be
