Bella Marie France, (BMF) in Intermark Mall strives to bring out the beauty in each individual by embracing the uniqueness within. Combining face and body treatments, their menu is designed so that clients can maximize their time by having two therapists work at once. All sessions at Bella Marie France in Intermark Mall begin with a consultation and skin analysis. A special type of photo is taken of the skin under different lights, which allows the therapist to accurately assess various factors such as pore size, pigmentation and moisture level. Working from the data and listening to clients’ goals, therapies are then recommended to suit individual needs.

As many in my age group might experience, fine lines are one of my biggest concerns. Thanks to numerous laser facials and a healthy use of sun protection, my skin tone is relatively even and my pores are not too large. The closer look at my dermis, however, does reveal a certain level of dryness. A hydrating facial and eye treatment are hence recommended, along with a Chi massage to assist wellness from the inside out.

HA Hydrating System + Facial

The HA Hydrating System + (RM 475, 85 minutes) at BMF Intermark Mall KL aims to restore moisture levels in the skin by “replenishing collagen and hyaluronic acid.” It’s a non-invasive technology designed to penetrate the skin with active ingredients. A 100% collagen mask completes the experience promising to plump up fine lines for a more youthful appearance.

The treatment is ideal for those with dry skin resulting in fine lines, dull or tired appearance and a fragile complexion. Besides the rehydration benefits, it also claims to boost cell regeneration and has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.

I recommend removing your own make-up, especially mascara and eye-liner before you attend the appointment. Every make-up brand is different and you know how to remove your own best. This will avoid taking up the time of therapist and excessive rubbing around the eyes.

The products in this facial feel rich and lush on the skin and are generously applied. Softly scented, I detect a different aroma in each – honey, maybe eucalypt and possibly flowers. The technique of the therapist is purposeful with lots of upward motions and my hands get treated to a mask as well.

RF Yeux De Beaute Eye Treatment – Radio Frequency

Complementing the facial is a RF Yeux De Beaute (64 min, RM 190) eye treatment. This technique delivers radio frequency to remodel the collagen network around the eye area. It claims to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, and also balance the “Chi” force in the eye zone to boost lymphatic drainage. This, in turn, relieves puffy eyes and reduces dark circles.

For the radio frequency to work, you should not be wearing or touching anything metal. Remove your jewellery beforehand and leave your mobile phone in your locker. Lying supine, I hold a metal hand-piece, which acts as a conductor and facilitates the function of the machine on my face. The therapist rolls the nozzle around my eye area, avoiding the lid. The radio-frequency is warm and comforting just as you might feel exiting a freezing mall or office to stand in the daylight and the sun sinks in, heating the skin.

Chi Massage

At the same time the above is taking place, another therapist works on my abdomen with a Chi Massage (25 mins, RM250). Quite strong pressure is used in the massage with various points pressed down and then released. This felt wonderfully luxurious with four hands working at the same time. And, although it was a little uncomfortable in parts, the tension release I felt afterwards was well worth it.
