Hot Cross Buns KL 2021 Easter Cravings

Hot Cross Buns KL 2021

Monica Tindall

While I’ve lost my taste for sweet things as I age my love of carbs has not wavered. It’s not chocolate that I think of when it comes to Easter, but instead, hot cross buns! It’s only been in recent years that I’ve found them in KL and they have gradually become more available each year. Here I highlight three places to get yours this Easter.

Hot Cross Buns KL 2021

Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur

The team at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur can always be relied upon to spruce up any festive season. Easter is no different. Besides an incredible array of chocolate creations, they make a mean traditional orange and raisin hot cross bun. They’re available for delivery and self-pickup from Lemon Garden 2Go for RM 15 per half dozen (180 g) until April 4, 2021. They’re sticky, dense and slightly sweet. Pop them in the oven for the ultimate bun experience.

Hot Cross Buns KL – Vicked Good

The vegan baker, Vicked Good, not only provides plant-based buns but makes a healthier wholemeal recipe too. Fragrant spices and a light fluffy dough are the key characteristics of Vicked Good’s vegan and preservative-free hot cross buns. Their vegan classic hot cross buns are available at RM 3.50/pc for a minimum of 10 buns, and RM 3.90/pc for a minimum of 10 buns for the vegan wholemeal option. Place your orders from Monday to Saturday before 3:00 p.m. (closed on Sundays), and receive your fresh bakes the next working day.

A Little Farm on the Hill

Why have hot cross buns when you can have hot cross loaves instead?! A marriage between a hot cross bun and a Hokkaido milk loaf, the team at A Little Farm on the Hill bake them in both fruity and boozy (fruit soaked in rum and brandy) versions. Citrus peel, spiced fruit and their own candied Bentong ginger, make these loaves highly aromatic. They are available to order for delivery every weekend from now until Easter. Each loaf is approximately 9″ x 5″ (made up of 3 small loaves). The fruity loaf goes for RM50 and the boozy loaf RM55. Click this link to order.

  3. Gosh!!! It’s Easter again…and we are still in the midst of the horrendous pandemic. Dunno of any place selling nice hot cross buns here.
