My Love – The Tower Spa

The My Love package is priced at RM 888 per couple and lasts approximately two and a half hours. However, it is recommended to allow at least three hours here so you have time to change before the treatment and leisurely wind down with tea and a snack at the end. Believe me, after the dreamy experience and those views, you won’t want to leave too soon.

Included in the My Love escape are an aromatic sea salt foot ritual, dry brushing, seashell bath and garden citrus massage.

Couple’s Treatment Room

Foot Bath & Head Massage

After I’ve changed and left my belongings in a locker, my therapist Yani meets me in the relaxation lounge where foot treatments are carried out. My feet go into a warm bowl of water and Yani sets to work on my head, forehead and neck. I sink into the armchair, which feels like an oversized lap, soft and safe in its embrace. It’s immediately apparent that Yani is skilled and confident in her practice. I learn that she has near two decades in the industry and did her training in Energy Spa in KL, the country’s top training facility. This component finishes with a light sea salt foot exfoliation before we move to the private treatment room.

Both the single and the couple’s treatment rooms are spacious, include a jacuzzi and have postcard-perfect views of the hills and sea. I have not come across a place with better views on the island and it’s a challenge deciding whether or not to close my eyes or to gaze at the splendour.

Greek Deep-sea Sponge Exfoliation

Lying supine, the second stage of the package begins the dry brushing. It’s a form of exfoliation but unlike dry and wet scrubs there is no discomfort at all. I don’t like the stickiness of a wet scrub. A dry scrub is better but still leaves too much excess on the skin for too long for my liking. At The Tower Spa, they use a Greek deep-sea sponge. It is soft and finely abrasive. I imagine it’s the best option for sensitive skin and there are no uncomfortable moments of waiting to wash off an exfoliation product. Yani scrubs every part of my body, including my underarms and I can visibly see the little rolls of dry skin that have been removed afterwards.

Taiwanese Seashell Jacuzzi Bath

The treatment moves from Europe to Asia with the inclusion of giant Taiwanese seashells in a jacuzzi bath. The shells are designed to be held up to your ear so you can enjoy the relaxing sound of the sea. I listen for a while but I’m happy with the jets and the vistas. Thirty minutes pass quickly in this dream world.

90-minute Massage

A relaxing full body massage takes up the majority of the session. The massage bed is large and comfortable. I filled in a preference form on arrival and Yani takes good note, giving my back and feet a little more attention. Her strokes are long and firm. Her technique is masterful. I dose on and off and my body feels boneless under her expert hands.

Snack, Tea & Views

The My Love package concludes with a snack, tea and magical view. It’s nearing sunset. If I didn’t have another appointment to run off to, I could easily linger here much longer.

  1. Glad that Komtar is coming back to life! Last time I was there, it was like a haunted place! So pathetic!
