In the heart of Bangkok’s On Nut neighbourhood, a quietly bustling residential area brimming with mixed residential and commercial life, the newly opened INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit made its grand debut this July. Situated away from the city centre’s frenetic pace, this boutique gem offers a tranquil respite while ensuring easy access to the vibrant offerings of Thailand’s capital.
Location: A Gateway to Bangkok’s Best
The hotel’s prime location stands as a testament to its allure. A mere 15 minutes on the neighbouring BTS Skytrain has you in the bustling city centre, refreshingly contrasting the serene surroundings. The Lotus supermarket next door and affordable massage centres are also appreciated conveniences, especially for more extended stays. Furthermore, quick access to the expressway ensures a smooth 30-minute journey to Suvarnabhumi Airport, making it a practical choice for travellers. BITEC, Bangkok’s largest convention centre, is only a stone’s throw away, ideal for those attending events in the city.
Design: A Tribute to Bangkok’s Charms
The design ethos of INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit is nothing short of inspiring. It takes cues from Bangkok’s iconic landmarks, including the Chao Phraya River and the revered temples Wat Pho and Wat Phra Kaew. A striking example is the rooftop pool, graced by a giant golden swing reminiscent of the enormous red Brahman structure in front of Wat Suthat. The Kites Eatery pays homage to the kite-flying tradition of Sanam Luang Park with a mesmerising display of kite motifs.
The overall aesthetic is fun, contemporary, and bright, embracing a colour palette of whites and glass that floods the interiors with natural daylight. The 32nd-floor co-working space and lobby offer an astonishing panoramic view of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows. At the same time, the staff’s casual attire fosters a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Sneakers and t-shirts set the tone, making the vibe pleasant and hassle-free.
Unique Spaces for Productivity & Relaxation
INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit doesn’t stop at just offering a place to rest your head; it creates unique spaces for both work and leisure. The “Big Ideas Space” boasts the coolest meeting rooms around, perfect for getting those creative juices flowing. The two-story rooftop infinity pool, with its glass bottom forming the roof of LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar below, provides a stunning backdrop for relaxation. I appreciate the 24-hour gym. Though compact, it’s equipped with decent cardio machines and free weights, enough to work up a sweat and do some strength work to balance our Bangkok food adventures.
INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit Food & Beverage
LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar is the hotel’s signature restaurant with breathtaking views from its 33rd-floor position. This Spanish restaurant and bar offer a compact menu of tapas, expertly paired with cocktails, beer, and easy-drinking Spanish wines. With toe-tapping background music and a staff that exudes warmth, it’s a surefire recipe for an upbeat evening.
Kites Eatery is the hotel’s all-day-dining outlet and where breakfast is served. We have the buffet included in our room rate and find it high-quality and mostly Continental in style. An egg station is supported by several hot sides, dim sum, salad, cold cuts, cereal, yogurt, bread, pastries, and many local fruits. Tea, coffee, and juice make up the drinks selection. Everything is done well. Lettuce is crisp and fresh, fruit is perfectly ripe, eggs are done exceptionally well, and the bread and pastries taste fresh from the oven. Everything is super clean. Despite the full house, staff buzz around efficiently, removing plates from tables, wiping spills from the buffet, and ensuring the coffee machine is sparkling clean.
Stylish & Thoughtful Rooms
INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit provides comfort and style within its 208 rooms. With eight different room categories, there is something for most travellers. We are in The Townhouse, the hotel’s equivalent of a suite, with a separate living area, bedroom, and bathroom, all divided by solid sliding doors ensuring privacy and comfort. Hubby can watch late-night tennis, and I can rise early to hit the gym without disturbing each other.
The rooms are decorated in varying shades of white, with large windows letting in natural light, creating a light, bright, and spacious feel in a small space. The lounge area in the living room is a daybed rather than a traditional couch, which could possibly sleep two additional people. It is a perfect spot for watching TV or relaxing with a book. The clean whites are accented by black and white prints by local photographers. There’s even an old-school telephone and Marshall speakers adding character.
Everything is designed with comfort in mind, ensuring a restful and enjoyable stay. Blackout curtains and heavenly DreamMaker mattresses foster a good night’s sleep. The shower offers both rain and hand-held heads with an adjustable stream. A large bathtub has a convenient caddy tray and a yellow rubber ducky for fun. Organic bath products are in refillable pumps, cutting waste and making for a luxurious experience. The gowns, reminiscent of oversized hoodies, replace traditional bathrobes, embracing soft sweatshirt fleece for an ingenious touch. These are complemented by cute grey slippers with toes playfully printed on the top.
Modern conveniences like Chromecast 50-inch TVs, Wi-Fi, and USB chargers all make the stay even more agreeable. A complementary mini-bar showcasing locally-sourced drinks like Chang Beer and green tea, as well as an espresso machine don’t go unnoticed.

In sum, INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit is a place that effortlessly balances serenity and access, contemporary design and comfort, and sustainability and style. It is a fitting choice for those who seek a contemporary Bangkok experience, whether for business or leisure. We’d book again in a heartbeat.
