To arrive, take the lift to the 40th floor to the Element by Westin hotel lobby. Message the staff or inform reception, and someone from the spa will collect you in minutes. Going down one floor takes you to the magnificent indoor pool (a sight to behold in itself), and tucked away down an intimate hallway is the entrance to Serenity Spa by Posh KL.
Towering ceilings immediately gift a sense of luxury, and angled floor-to-ceiling glass walls that literally lean into the views further boost the privilege. Decked in neutral tones and natural materials, the spa stimulates a sense of calm right from the onset.
Guests are greeted with passion fruit tea, a peppermint-scented moist towel and a preference questionnaire to begin. As shoes are replaced by slippers, the outside world quickly disappears from mind.
Treatment Menu
Serenity Spa by Posh’s menu consists of several types of massage, facials, and body treatments, as well as packages combining the best of them all. I take the Indulge & Illuminate combo (Regular price RM 1780, promo price RM 1290 for two pax or RM 699 for one pax) consisting of a 60-minute Touch of Serenity massage, 10-minute Herbal Compress Face Massage and a 50-minute GUINOT Hydra Facial Treatment.
Farah is my therapist and takes me to a beautiful single treatment room fully equipped with a separate shower, toilet and dressing room. The blinds have been drawn, but I can still take in the far-reaching views of the Ampang Hills and beyond.
Disposable underwear is provided, and I ring the bell to signal my readiness for the treatment to start. I begin prone with Farah’s skilful hands kneading out knots and tightness. She checks on temperature and comfort throughout, ensuring a satisfying experience. When the back is complete, I then lay supine, and it’s time for the facial.
The standard cleanse, exfoliate, tone, mask and moisturise with luxurious GUINOT products is a heavenly experience under the masterful hands of Farah. While masks and products are left to do their work, the second part of the body massage continues – with the head, neck, shoulders, chest, arms, legs and stomach (if you choose). By this time, I’m in that incredibly delicious bridge between a dream state and consciousness. My body surrenders to the strokes, feeling heavy in place and 110% at rest, while my mind has just enough awareness to appreciate every minute.
The two-hour session is just right. I feel calm, rejuvenated and incredibly grateful at the end of the appointment but ready to drift back into the world again. Farah completes the treatment with a hot, moist towel rub over my neck, shoulders and back, serving as the final massage and cleansing the skin of oil residue.
Dressed and back at reception, my shoes and a delicious ginger tea signal my farewell. It’s been a health-giving afternoon, and I depart breathing deeply, relaxed and incredibly grateful for the service so close to my home in KL’s city centre.
