The Oriental Park, located on a prime corner of KLCC, offers a spacious semi-al fresco dining experience with a stunning view of the fountains and park. The cosy seating area is enhanced by high ceilings and ample fans, creating a comfortable environment where you can enjoy both natural greenery and fresh air.

Finding The Oriental Park in KLCC is simple. Exit through the ground level of Isetan towards the park or use the KLCC centre entry, walking left towards KLCC Park – you won’t miss it!

The attentive and courteous staff reflect the high standards of The Oriental Park, which also runs under the same group that manages The Tokyo Restaurant at Isetan in Lot 10. It’s no wonder our menu today is a perfect blend of Malaysian and Japanese cuisine.

Drinks Menu

We started our late afternoon at The Oriental Park’s colourful bar, sampling two refreshing cocktails. Monica chose the Oolong Negroni (RM50), a beautifully balanced concoction where the oolong-infused gin added depth without overpowering the classic Negroni essence. I opted for the Malaysian Splash (RM45), which was refreshing and nostalgic, thanks to the tangy asam boi powder dusted on the side. With a wide selection of alcoholic beverages and a daily Happy Hour menu from 11 am to 7 pm, it’s easy to see why this spot becomes increasingly lively as the evening progresses.

Our first dish, the Laksa Lemak Nyonya Melaka (RM35), presented by Chef de Cuisine Nimaan, brought a rich taste of Malaysian heritage. Served hot in a clay pot, the coconut turmeric broth paired beautifully with his recipe of sambal Kantan (a mix of anchovies, red onions, chilli padi, and Bunga Kantan). A squeeze of calamansi added a perfect touch of acidity to balance the creamy broth.

Next, we enjoyed the Sardiah Seafood Spaghettini (RM55), a unique fusion of East meets West. The Sarawak laksa-based sauce, blended with cream and tomato, created a velvety texture that soaked up the flavours of the fresh seafood. With a subtle spicy kick, this dish captures the essence of Malaysian cuisine with a twist.

Moving on to our mains, the Saikyo Miso Salmon (180g, RM50) is grilled with a local percik seasoning. However, this dish’s highlight was the salad dressing – an unexpected yet refreshing mix of calamansi, soya sauce, ulam raja, and olive oil.

The Yakiniku Beef Steak (200g, RM70) was another standout. Unlike the typical salt-and-pepper seasoning for steak, this flank cut was marinated in a unique blend of soy, garlic, and onion sauce, giving it a rich char, reminiscent of ‘panggang’ grilling. The portion size, combined with its price, makes this dish a great value.

To wrap up our meal, we indulged in their signature 6th Avenue Pancake (RM40), a fluffy, moist Japanese-style pancake from their ShokuPark range of baked goods and pastries. Though found under the dessert menu, it’s just as suitable for breakfast or brunch. Served with whipped butter and homemade salted caramel sauce, it was a sweet, satisfying end to our night.
