Limóne Desa ParkCity – Desserts & Cafe

Limóne has opened a branch in Desa ParkCity, adding to the array of casual cafés that suit the leafy green neighbourhood. Within just a month of its opening, it has already established a loyal following.

The scene is vibrant, especially on the weekends. People are in activewear, and a parade of well-cared-for pooches struts the walkways, receiving friendly “aw, so cute” from fellow strollers. Furry friends (in diapers) are even catered to in the cool, air-conditioned interior here, with special Puppacinos (RM 4) made of whipped cream.

The European-inspired café menu is smaller here than in their flagship outlet in Damansara. It’s primarily a grab-n-go concept but with enough seating for 16. Lemon-hued walls and a giant coastal painting give off Amalfi vibes, home to some of the most renowned lemons in the world.

Limóne Desa ParkCity Menu

There’s a printed menu of savoury items and drinks, and a chilled counter of cakes. Don’t miss trying their signature soft serve, and remember to ask for the daily specials, such as chicken rendang quiche and truffle madeleines.

Bites

The Granola and Yoghurt Bowl (RM 18) makes a quick breakfast or afternoon pick-me-up. Creamy Greek yoghurt is topped with a seasonal berry compote and homemade granola (oats, dried fruits, nuts, seeds – good stuff).

Classic Tomato Soup (RM 18) is also a good portion for a light meal or substantial snack. Roasted tomatoes are blended with herbs into a simple, full-flavoured recipe with no fuss. It’s best eaten together with the crispy garlic sourdough toast, which contributes a good whop of garlic.

We appreciate the healthy choices found in the Spinach & Roasted Pumpkin (RM 30) and Super Food (RM 30) salads. The former is a bowl full of spinach, roasted pumpkin, walnuts, pomegranate, and feta cheese. Thoughtfully, the homemade yuzu vinaigrette (so good) is served separately, allowing us to add it to taste. The latter is equally fresh: a hefty bowl of quinoa, mixed greens, edamame, shredded carrots, almond flakes, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, kyuri and sunflower seeds. Once more, the balsamic dressing is portioned apart.

Sandwiches are perfect grab-and-go material. The Egg Mayo Sandwich (RM 22) is filled with free-range hard-boiled eggs, mayo, and fresh veggies in a soft milk brioche. It’s good, but our favourite is the Tuna Melt (RM 25). Chewy, crunchy slices of sourdough hold a generous filling of tuna in homemade tartare sauce with sliced tomato, lettuce, pickles, and cheddar, nicely melted from a good toasting.

Signature

Limóne’s signature desserts are soft serve and baked-on-the-spot cookies. The Combo (RM 18) gets the best of both worlds with a warm, chewy, baked-on-the-spot cookie with a swirl of cereal-flavoured soft serve. It’s a play of contrasts – hot and cold, creamy and chewy, sweet and salty – mimicking dipping a cookie in a glass of milk.

Cakes & Desserts

While the majority of the written menu is savoury, there’s an ever-evolving cake display of sweet treats guaranteed to cause a little salivation at the very least. Our picks, Midnight Berry (RM 24), Tropical Paradise (RM 24) and the signature Limóne (RM 24), look small but are rich enough to share. The first is as dark as the night, with a glossy chocolate coat holding a black sesame and cassis middle on top of a sesame and chocolate base. The second is a creamy tower softened with a pink crown of fresh pomelo. Slicing in reveals white chocolate with coconut mousse, mango compote and passionfruit curd. Lastly, Limóne’s signature looks just like a fresh summer Italian lemon, complete with stem and leaf. However, an airy lemon cheesecake is hiding below the canary yellow cocoa butter shell. It’s light, luscious, and easy to taste why it’s been their best-seller since opening.

Curious fact: Check out the wall of fame, where the signature Limóne dessert is photographed at the top of Mount Kinabalu!

As mentioned earlier, Limóne Desa ParkCity also has rotating specials, which are not on display but worth asking for, such as Truffle Madeleines (RM 9). These are fresh out of the oven, a classic recipe but with truffle paste, adding a savoury earthiness to the sweet base. They’re a hit!

Drinks

Being grab-and-go in style, the chilled drinks are currently served in plastic. However, you can bring your own cup (please do). The E&T (RM 15) is perfect for when you want a caffeine boost and cool refreshment at the same time, a bright combo of tonic water, lemon juice and espresso. For those with a sweet tooth, Princess Peach (RM 16) is a satisfying mix of white peach pureé, lychee, mint leaves and soda.

Coffee is good, too, made on locally-roasted Brazilian beans, and there are options for plant-based milk alongside regular dairy. My Flat White (RM 12) has a nicely foamed top, and the Ice Sea Salt Latte (RM 18) is simply fantastic. The secret is heavy cream and a thread of salt, making us want to keep sipping. And what reputable café in Kuala Lumpur would be complete without a good matcha? Niko Neko provides a high-quality base, and the team blends our Matcha Latte (RM 15) with expertise.

Reasons to visit Limóne Desa ParkCity: quick and easy spot to grab a sweet treat or healthy bite; we loved the tuna toastie, ice sea salt latte, and you have to try the signature Limone dessert.
