The Westin Perth Luxury Hotel

Luxury Hotel Perth – The Westin Perth Review

Perth’s quiet confidence meets world-class hospitality at The Westin Perth, a CBD hotel blending corporate sharpness with tranquil luxury and local charm.

Monica Tindall

Perth is many things—isolated, yes, but also quietly self-assured. It doesn’t shout like Sydney or strive to impress like Melbourne. Instead, it moves at its own pace, effortlessly combining world-class dining, design, and natural beauty. The Westin Perth, in the heart of the CBD, knows this well. Steps from the Swan River and a short stroll to Elizabeth Quay, it’s precisely where it should be—close enough to the action, but just far enough to ensure calm.

What makes it work? A blend of corporate sharpness and weekend leisure. Business travellers slip between meetings, while gourmet travellers sip crisp Margaret River Chardonnay at wine bars dotted around St George’s Terrace. And if you’re here for culture? The Art Gallery of Western Australia is minutes away, showcasing indigenous works that demand attention.

Luxury Hotel Perth Location

Smack in the middle of Perth’s CBD, The Westin makes an excellent case for swapping wheels for walking shoes. With Hibernian Place on its doorstep and a slew of boutiques, bars, and galleries within easy ambling distance, it’s a location that rewards curiosity. You’re equally well placed for riverside wanders to Elizabeth Quay (and a ferry ride to Rottnest to see those adorable quokkas) or a brush with history at the Old Central Fire Station Heritage Centre just next door. In other words: central, but far from ordinary.

Luxury Hotel Perth Design

There’s a deliberate restraint to The Westin Perth’s design, a sophisticated, refined restraint where less speaks volumes. Soaring ceilings, polished marble, and a well-honed palette of neutral tones balance warm Australian wood. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the city skyline, inviting Perth’s abundant sunlight to play across textured furnishings.

Not unlike the city itself, the hotel understands the power of space. It’s grand, but not overwhelming. Serene, yet never dull. The lobby moves with quiet efficiency, while the lounge areas—plush without being pretentious—invite unhurried pleasure.

And then, of course, there’s the subtle nod to Western Australia’s history. Sculptural installations throughout the hotel reference the region’s natural beauty, and soft curves echo the undulating coastline. It’s luxury, but rooted.

Luxury Hotel Perth Rooms & Suites

Effortlessly chic, the rooms at The Westin Perth are what happens when elegance decides to exhale. Expect crisp white linens, textured lounges positioned just-so, and lighting that responds like a mind reader. Upgrade to a suite and you’ll find space to stretch, breathe, and soak in views—some leafy and serene over Stirling Gardens, others sharply angled across the city’s polished skyline. Mornings begin with espresso brewed from Offshoot pods, roasted just a stone’s throw away. Evenings wind down with a glass of WA red, handpicked from a minibar that favours curation over standardisation.

And yet, what lingers longest isn’t the marble-clad bathroom or the rainfall shower that erases travel fatigue like a magic trick—it’s the way The Westin understands wellbeing. I have the diet. I tick the movement box. But sleep? That elusive third pillar remains the holy grail. Enter the Heavenly Bed (trademarked and entirely justified): just the right balance of plush and supportive. Add to that double-glazed silence, blackout blinds, air-con that whispers, and a lavender-chamomile balm that feels like a bedtime ritual more than a hotel amenity. Perimenopause may have stolen a few restful nights, but here, at least, I have the conditions stacked in my favour.

Facilities

With wellness built into its bones, The Westin Perth invites us to pause, breathe, and stay a while. The heated (hello, comfortable winter dips) infinity-edge pool sits high enough to make the city view part of the experience, and the wellness offerings (although we don’t have time to try them) at Bodhi Spa look comprehensive.

Fitness, though, is more my speed (or necessity) on this trip with a goal of documenting the gourmet delights of the Great Southern for the next three weeks. The gym is equipped for serious workouts with high-end Technogym equipment. However, the great outdoors also calls, and a run along the Swan River is an invigorating start to a morning.

Food & Beverage

In a city brimming with culinary ambition, The Westin Perth quietly earns its place at the table.

Garum

Garum, the signature restaurant by celebrated chef Guy Grossi, leads with modern Italian elegance. Anchored in Roman traditions but adapted for Western Australia’s bounty, it channels Roman tradition the way a nonna leans into a hug: generously, and with purpose. The menu is filled with house-made pastas, slow-cooked meats, and a wine list that dances between European classics and local standouts.

Haven Lounge, Bar & Hibernian Terrace

Mornings at Haven Lounge are scented with expertly brewed coffee, accompanied by pastries and pretty seasonal afternoon teas. Evenings, however, are another matter. When the weather is behaving, the garden terrace overlooking Hibernian Place is our fave spot to lounge. Come evening, the bar trades lattes for libations, leaning into its sultry side with martinis stirred and conversations unhurried.

The Westin Executive Club Lounge

I love a good club lounge and always upgrade when I have the chance. The Westin Perth’s Executive Club Lounge is where I head to escape the crowds, enjoy a brekkie that’s just the right size, and most importantly, let someone else make the coffee. There’s something cheekily decadent about knowing I can pop in anytime and have the floor almost to myself. The evening canapes and cocktail ritual never gets old either.

Breakfast at The Westin Perth

If you’re staying in a Club Room, the morning spread is more than adequate for most appetites. That said, if only a barista-brewed latte will do, Garum is where you’ll want to start your day. Club guests can upgrade to the buffet breakfast at Garum for an additional A$25 or opt for the à la carte menu—a compact, yet generous and well-executed option (the smashed avocado is excellent, and the ricotta pancakes are as photogenic as they are fluffy). Missed breakfast in your room package, or just want to pop in as a non-guest? The full buffet is available for A$47. It includes one professionally made coffee, though caffeine enthusiasts can help themselves to unlimited cups from the DIY machine. The spread is concise and precise – everything is hand-crafted, superbly fresh and absolutely delicious. We can’t recommend the omelettes highly enough, with fresh avocado slices if they’re in season, and the Greek yoghurt is ridiculously thick and creamy – so good!

Stay Like A Pro Tips

Request a high floor. The skyline views are one of the hotel’s quiet superpowers. From the upper floors, you get that rare Perth perspective: glass towers, distant hills, and a whisper of the Swan River at dusk.

Don’t skip breakfast. Garum’s Roman-inspired menu is reason enough to wake up hungry. House-made pastries, proper coffee, and the sort of eggs that arrive looking like they belong in a cookbook. Worth lingering for — and no judgment if you go back for the porchetta.

Use the WestinWORKOUT gear lending program. Forgot your runners? No problem. The hotel can kit you out with shoes and activewear, so there’s no excuse not to take advantage of the fitness studio (or at least look the part en route to the spa).

Head out the side door. The Westin is right on the edge of the Hibernian Place precinct, and just a short walk from some of the city’s best boutiques, bars and galleries. Head north for heritage architecture and local fashion, or south for riverside calm.

Order the pillow menu. Yes, there is one. And yes, it’s worth it. Whether you’re a side-sleeper, memory-foam loyalist or just curious, this small luxury makes a noticeable difference. Sleep like you mean it.

The Westin Perth Review

The Westin Perth communicates in a calm, assured voice. It’s built for travellers who value ease without excess—rooms that feel like a soft exhale, amenities that remove friction from the day, and a dining scene that satisfies both the curious and the culinarily inclined.

If you’re seeking a destination that blends refinement, culture, and indulgence with quiet confidence, this might just be it.

Reasons to stay at The Westin Perth: its central location, those Heavenly beds, rooms designed for calm, and a meal at Garum is a must.
