If you’re contemplating options for a luxurious escape, a tent might not be high on your list. It might not even be on your list at all. Sleeping soundly beneath the stars, fully immersed in nature, may align more with adventure than relaxation and rejuvenation. Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket elegantly challenges this notion, beckoning gently from a private lagoon bedecked with native trees and wildflowers. At the same time, the Andaman Sea rolls gently within reach.
We arrive at its stunning lobby lounge, outfitted with high ceilings, fresh orchids, and beautifully landscaped trees decorated with blossoms and butterflies at every turn. We sip chilled coconut water from elegant Gabriel-Glas stemware—Mon, who once declared sake in a wine glass life-changing, now insists this is the real revelation. With delicate Phuang malai emitting fragrant notes of jasmine dangling from our wrists, we are led to our two-bedroom tented suite. It’s next to a beautifully maintained tropical lagoon. Right outside our doors, a private pool glitters like a jewel in the afternoon sun, and our lists go out the window.

Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket Location
Just minutes from Bangtao Beach, Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket rests beside a tropical lagoon framed by lush trees and wildflowers. It balances the rhythms of the Andaman Sea with serene stillness. The camp is conveniently located, just 30 minutes from both the airport and Patong Beach and under an hour from Phuket Old Town. Sister properties, Twinpalms Surin Beach Resort and Twinpalms MontAzure, are five to ten minutes away via a complimentary shuttle. And two of the island’s most popular beach clubs, Catch Beach Club and the Lazy Coconut, are a leisurely five-minute stroll through a tree-lined path.

Design
With private pools, manicured gardens and airy common spaces bathed in bountiful natural light, Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket seamlessly combines the pristine beauty of the outdoors with convenient indoor comforts. It’s both glamorous and communal, featuring twenty-nine one- to two-bedroom luxury tents that face a tropical lagoon and spacious, open-plan common areas. Beachfront tents right on Bangtao Beach are also available.
Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket sports plenty of wooden accents with eye-catching natural grain. Each tent is luxuriously outfitted with soothing neutral tones, the colour of sand, bark, and stone. Tented ceilings loom high above us, and strong rain-resistant exteriors provide ample protection from the elements. With Twinpalms’ focus on using sustainable materials, we are impressed by the level of sophistication afforded. Additionally, we are mesmerised by the abundance of greenery and landscaping with exquisite attention to detail. Steps away from our tent, the tropical lagoon teems with aquatic life, and we count at least three varieties of butterflies flitting about.

Tents
We step into our Two-Bedroom Lagoon Pool Tented Suite. It’s one of three in total. We pause to admire the luxurious common area, with two bedrooms off to either side. We are treated to 150 square metres of space, inclusive of a private pool and terrace. With director’s chairs, rattan accents, elegant wooden furniture, a majestic writing desk, a sofa and a chaise longue, we’d be happy camping out in the common area alone. However, we pad softly to either side and exhale with wonder when we see our bedrooms.
The beds are canopied, with a comfortable couch facing out towards the tree-lined lagoon. Piled high with pillows and soft linens, our king-size beds are ready to let us rest our heavy heads at day’s end. The bolster pillows are of a nice firmness and width, and the mattresses are the perfect mix of soft and supportive (husbands, are you taking note?).
The bathrooms are fully equipped with dual sinks that you don’t need to crowd around to share. Our tent also has a two-setting rain shower featuring a pebble bottom that provides some added reflexology benefits. We also spot dimmable camping lanterns that are functional as well as aesthetically pleasing.
No detail is too small to add extra comfort to our stay. Travelling trunks are placed strategically throughout our tent for cleverly concealed storage. The walls are adorned with plant prints straight out of a vintage botany textbook, while fresh orchids wink at us from different corners. The desks are adorned with a vintage globe and antique green lamp, as well as plenty of options for charging our devices. In-room lighting ranges from comfortably bright to a dim yellow, encouraging the maintenance of healthy circadian rhythms.

Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket – Food & Drink
Catch Beach Club
Throughout our stay, we enjoy breakfast at Catch Beach Club, which is included for all guests. The menu offers a range of a la carte local and Western dishes—eggs, any style among them—alongside a small buffet with baked goods, cereal, and yoghurt. Noteworthy is the barista coffee—if time allows, Joe might even impress with some cute latte art. Our breakfasts feature glasses of bubbly, fresh fruit platters, eggs to our liking, and an excellent selection of bread (including gluten-free recipes) and homemade jam. A smashing Sunday Brunch and Friday Night barbecue are also popular at Catch, and day passes can be purchased for guests not staying on the property.

The Lazy Coconut
We while away our days with lunch at The Lazy Coconut, a relaxed beachside venue with ocean-view pools, sunbeds, and private cabanas. The food is prepared with relaxing afternoons in mind and can be enjoyed with ease. While the food is delicious, the cocktail options are outstanding! Don’t miss the Papaya Colada, a rum and coconut cocktail served in a hollowed-out papaya!

Lobby Lounge
On-site, the Lobby Lounge has a light food menu available until 9 pm. You can order to your heart’s content through the Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket app or head over and soak up the safari vibes. Guests enjoy complimentary fruit-infused water, coconut water (served delightfully in those fabulous chilled wine glasses), Nespresso coffee, and TWG tea. The lounge is open daily from 7 am to 9 pm.

Facilities
Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket offers a 24-hour access fitness centre with a focus on sustainability. Nohrd fitness equipment, crafted from wood and sustainable materials, brightens the space with its high quality and aesthetically pleasing design. Coming soon, a communal pool, long enough for laps, will be located just steps away.
We also indulge in 60-minute oil massages at the dedicated tent, designed with comfort and calm in mind. Inside, two full-length massage beds—generously sized for Western bodies and ergonomically crafted for optimal relaxation—are paired with an ensuite bathroom for added ease. The treatments quite literally smooth us into oblivion; we drift off mid-massage, utterly carefree.

Activities
Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket provides activities aplenty. Start your morning with a tranquil sunrise meditation or yoga session from 6:30 to 7:30 am. Midday brings lotus petal folding lessons at the Lobby Lounge between 11 am and noon, a charming, creative pause. We savoured the mango-tasting experience from 3 to 4 pm, indulging in some of the most perfectly ripe mangoes imaginable. At 5 pm, we joined the chime-hanging ritual, writing wishes for the year ahead on delicate wind chimes. The day winds down with a campfire gathering and live music at 6:30 pm in the Lobby Lounge, creating a relaxed, communal atmosphere. All these experiences are offered daily to every guest.

Stay Like a Pro
Beach or Lagoon Tent? Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket offers both beachfront and lagoon-side suites. While stepping straight onto the sand has its appeal, do consider the lively late-night rhythms of nearby Catch Beach Club. If early nights and uninterrupted rest are more your style, the tranquil lagoon-tented suites are the better choice.
Beach Access: With resorts, hotels, and beach clubs stretching the length of Bangtao Beach, direct access isn’t always obvious. Fortunately, Twinpalms guests can reach the sand through The Lazy Coconut, just a short stroll or buggy ride away. Don’t be deterred by the rope across the entrance—it’s perfectly fine to step over.
Sunset: Bangtao Beach is perfectly positioned for sunset views. Pull up a private seat in the sand, or head to Catch Beach Club or The Lazy Coconut to watch the show unfold with a cocktail in hand.
Don’t Miss the Lux Hammock: Each tented suite has a bench hammock tucked at the side, easy to overlook. We spent cosy afternoons reading or working from these shaded, padded perches—perfect for comfort and the occasional nap.
Happy Hour: Enjoy two-for-one drinks daily at the Lobby Lounge from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Twinpalms Sisterhood: Guests have access to dining and facilities at both sister properties—Twinpalms Surin Beach Phuket and Twinpalms MontAzure. A regular shuttle service connects all three locations.
