A weekend food adventure with some local friends found us up bright and early on a Sunday morning. The promise of the city’s “best Hakka Mee” reduced the moans and groans of having to subject ourselves to the outer world before noon. The effort to get out the door and across the other side of town was justified as we just managed to squeeze into Famous Seremban Favourites Restaurant early enough to secure a table. With a reputation for excellent food the place was packed. We overheard guests’ disappointment, who had placed their orders later than ours, as they were told, “Sorry, all sold out today.” Noodles are made on site and they are particularly applauded for their Hakka Mee – slightly overweight noodles topped with minced pork, simple, uncomplicated, but alluring until the last drop. Another crowd pleaser, that usually runs out not long after noon, is their Char Siew – tender and juicy – just as scrumptious as that found at Soo Kee in Ampang but a with a slightly honeyed finish.

My favourite char siew would be the Toast & Roast but it's time to go back again to FSF 😛
I didn't realize that char siew could taste so different. This was an interesting honey like version.
the char siu looks good..
I also like the ming kee char siu..
Ming Kee… you'll have to tell me where that is!
I see you have discovered this place!! 😉 Its a very delectable char siew…
Discovered… with help of some "in the know" buddies 🙂
The noodles look springy and fresh! It must be delicious =)
Yep, lovely and fresh. I guess they make them daily.
That's a generous amount of char siew in the wan tan mee! I'm definitely sold on places that give generous portions. =D
There were 5 of us in all and our buddy was a little hungry I guess when he ordered. We had trouble finishing as there was so much food!
i love all of them especially the char siew
Yes, it was a big hit with my buddies too 🙂
mmmm, this is the kind of char siew that can haunt your dreams at 2 a.m. in the morning and cause you to wake up with a jolt, lusting after the sweetest, juiciest pork on the planet 😀
Agreed 😉 I should have suspected that you would dream about food. 🙂
I've been wanting to go here for ages, but a bit lazy since the location is very convenient for us. I'm actually from Seremban, so it would be interesting to see how the food fares.
Would love to hear your comparison. Hands up for a foodie trip to Seremban! Take me next time, please 🙂
the char siew is really good there 🙂 but i believe in seremban, you can find them at more reasonable price with equally good taste

Do let me in on your secret spots. Seremban might be the next weekend adventure 🙂
I love my char siew with a bit of fat. The char siew here looks good, should go and try that one day.
I've only just learned that in some places you can ask for different percentages of fat! I'm still becoming accustomed to the idea that many people like more fat. At home, it seems that people want more meat. Different perceptions – makes the world wonderful.
I love the Char Siew here. But yeah, have to go early, on our second visit, we went quite late and they ran out of Char Siew. Will try again earlier next time!
That seems to be common with the best local places around KL so the advice is the same for all – go early or risk missing out. 🙂
