I’m Chris Ang, the senior bartender at Three X Co. I was first introduced to the bartending scene by my brother.
What’s the best/worst part of your job?
The best part of my job is meeting new people and interacting with them. The worst part of my job is customers ordering coffee during a busy bar time and, of course, there is the part about cleaning up puke.
What are your favourite drinks?
1. Gin and tonic
2. Hugel Alsace Gewurztraminer
What’s one of the craziest things you have seen behind the scenes?
Seeing a guy accidentally cut his hand and requesting lime and salt from me to put on his wound.
The perfect day off would be…
Travelling alone without a phone; just carrying a map and my GoPro.
A day in the life of a bartender is…
…exciting because I meet different kinds of people every day.
What do you do for fun?
I watch movies and dramas and play games.
What’s your favourite food and wine pairing?
Shrimp paired with sauvignon blanc.
What’s something you’d like guests to know about Three X Co?
It’s a special place where friends can gather and be comfortable.
What’s your view on the drinks scene in Kuala Lumpur?
It’s getting vibrant with more new bars opening. With more choices, consumers will learn to develop their own taste profile.
What’s in store for you in the upcoming months?
The next few months will be busy as we have a few unique events lined up such as a guest shift by Din Hassan and the Eiling Lim whisky masterclass in April. There is also a cigar event in May. Please follow us on our FB and IG for details and updates.
