Meal Delivery A Little Farm on the Hill

In every storm, there’s a possibility of a rainbow, and our arc of colour comes in the form of delivery from A Little Farm on The Hill. With us unable to cross the border, the team on this beautiful organic farm are bringing their fare to KL. The experience of dining on-site in cool air with views of lush rolling hills and the sounds of the rainforest as the backdrop, can’t be replicated in the city. We can close our eyes, however, and let the taste of crisp, fresh produce bring happy memories flooding back.

Meal delivery is offered in the form of two sets; Signature Smoked Beef (RM580+ for 4 pax) and Vegetarian (RM400+ for 4 pax). All the plants are plucked the same morning from the garden and meats are smoked in their hand-built smokehouse on site.

My plant-loving desires are more than fulfilled with the beautiful spread of meat-free recipes. The set arrives with each dish carefully packaged in brown compostable cardboard, baking paper or mini glass jars where possible. Prep instructions are clearly outlined in one page, with most simply requiring plating or a few minutes of reheating in the oven.

The meal is well-balanced offering variety in flavour, texture and temperature. Kicking off the set, creamy chickpea hummus and aubergine baba ganoush are ideal spreading for the farm-made flatbread. This is the type of food that can be extended over a leisurely afternoon. With that in mind, we sip on glasses of rosé and chat about fond memories of our last visit to A Little Farm on the Hill.

The signature caramelised garlic and goat cheese tart has been on the menu as long as I can remember – a definite favourite amongst guests and one that cannot be replaced. The crust is buttery and flaky and the warm tang of the goat cheese harmonises gorgeously with the sweetness of the caramelised garlic. I challenge you to stop at only one slice!

Siding the tart, a 12 leaf and herb salad, roasted pumpkin with tahini dressing, and buttered tricolour rice with kerukub, cumin and onions, add colour to our plates. The salad is superb – an immune booster for sure. The rice is addictive with its chewy texture and nutty flavours, and, really, can you ever go wrong with roasted pumpkin?

To finish, a slice of lemon coconut mulberry cake furnishes a moist, mildly sweet ending; great with a hot cup of tea.

  3. The name alone makes me want to order but I don’t think they will deliver here Keep healthy, cheers, Diane

  4. The food looks delicious.

During the current times we are loving home deliveries from our meat supplier. They have adapted their business whilst they are not allowed to trade from their premises.

  5. Ha ha… I like mutton but I don’t usually like goat cheese.
So I guess I will give the tart a go if the smell is not too strong. 😉
