Happy Stan Delivery Menu

Some might imagine “coffee and cocktails” when they think of Happy Stan in Republik, Bukit Damansara. This would be with good reason as it’s a collaboration between the team behind the popular cafe VCR and expert bartender Karl Too. However, there is more to the outlet than liquid recipes alone. With chef Cyrus Ahmad Shukri recently joining the kitchen, Happy Stan now has a food menu worth getting excited about.
KL café hoppers might know Cyrus from Soul Sacrifice in Desa Pandan or even the first location of Artisan Roast in Ampang Hilir. At that time, he was also fondly known as Big C and served one of the best big breakfasts in the suburbs. Growing as a chef, he became known for his original takes on comfort food – remember his twist on a Scotch egg? We’re happy to reunite and see what he has cooked up at Happy Stan.
Happy Stan Delivery Menu
To make things easy, the team at Happy Stan offer a couple of Stay at Home set meals, which include one dish and a drink for RM 25. Choose either peach tea or black coffee (add RM 2 for a latte).
We try the brunch set with Stan’s Muffin. A soft English muffin holds scrambled eggs and cheddar and is sided with a house-made hash brown. For lunch, we love the Pulled Beef Sandwich. VCR’s signature sourdough offers just the right amount of sponginess and crunchy crust to embrace the generous filling of shredded beef. It really is a meaty mouthful.
Bao
A snack or light lunch can be found in their selection of bao. Spicy Chicken Bao (RM 15) sees golden-fried chicken wadding a soft white bun. A spicy Korean sauce supplies heat while still allowing the rest of the flavours to play their part.
Mains
Guaranteed to fill a hungry tummy, the Beefu Don (RM 50) at Happy Stan is a large rice bowl based on Japanese grains. They’re covered with 100 grams of pan-seared medium-rare Black Angus beef strips. Teriyaki shiitake mushrooms and stir-fried baby kalian complete the cover. The ginger sauce tops it off nicely.
Hubby is rather fond of the Barramundi & Mango Salad (RM 42). Fancy fish and chips, he calls it (minus the chips). The coated fillets are complemented by a delicious dijon aioli. A kale mango salad with balsamic-honey dressing sides it.
Vibrant with bursts of orange and green, the Nasi Ulam with Salmon Percik (RM 36) sure is an eye-catcher. Herbed rice lays the foundation for fresh local greens and pan-seared salmon. There’s a fantastic percik sauce that goes with it. This Kelantanese coconut milk sambal is delicious!
Happy Stan Drinks Menu
Finally, we get to the drinks. Even though Happy Stan was originally designed to offer coffee and cocktails, there are no alcoholic beverages currently on the takeaway menu. However, their booze-free options are worth browsing. Tepache (RM 16, 150 ml), a gut-friendly, fizzy pineapple drink, is fruity and sweet. It’s best served over ice for maximum refreshment. We couldn’t not order coffee and their Iced Latte (RM 13) travelled particularly well. Lastly, Happy Stan has several juices on the menu. Double Apple Juice (RM 18, 250 ml) is clarified with no added sugar, making it almost clear in colour. Sweet!

Yes, food looks very great and I love those boxes, so much more environment friendly than all that plastic that a lot of people are using.
I am liking that scrambled eggs and cheddar in muffins!
Looks good if only…….. cheers Diane
The spicy chicken bao got my attention!
That salmon definitely catches my eye! Like others have noted, I love the environment-friendly packaging.
