Appetizers

To begin, you can select Panzerotti (mini pizza parcels shaped like curry puffs), Zucchini Parmigiana or Insalata di Pollo (chicken salad). We’ve had their Panzerotti before and can confirm their deliciousness. This round, we enjoy the Zucchini Parmigiana. Layers of thinly shaved veg stack up underneath a rich tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. I could eat this as a main and be completely satisfied.

Pizza

A trio of pizza offers the Classic Margherita and Picante as meat-free options, alongside the Diavola topped with mozzarella, chilli and beef salami. We love the classic and appreciate the thin crust with a puffy edge. It’s firm enough to ensure the tomato sauce does not turn it into a soggy mess but light enough to allow the cheese, tomato and basil to have their limelight.

Southern Italian Cuisine KL – Mains

Pasta and poultry compose the main meals with Spaghetti Alle Vongole, Spaghetti Bolognese and Half Spring Chicken as the options. We request the first and the last. As you’d expect, the pasta strings are al dente and the garlic, butter and herb clam sauce coats the spaghetti beautifully. The chicken is tender and sided with a brown sauce, salad and fat wedges. It’s comforting and uncomplicated.

Dessert

Perhaps the star of the show is Nero Nero’s Tiramisu. Ladyfingers (savoiardi) are dipped in coffee and layered with whipped eggs, coffee liqueur and mascarpone cheese. Cocoa powder is dusted over the top. It’s really a delicious recipe.

Wine

We like our dinner with wine, so we appreciate the convenience of ordering a bottle with our food. Muri Negroamaro from Italy’s south or Stanley Estates’ Apopo Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand makes choosing easy. Both are priced at RM 120+. We choose the latter for our veggie and seafood dishes. It’s a typical expression of the grape and region with plenty of tropical fruit on the nose, freshness in the mouth, and crisp acidity in the conclusion.

  1. Wish we could have these delivered to our home here. Everything looks so good!

  2. Lovely presentation.

  3. It all looks yummy
Coffee is on and stay safe

  4. I like a pizza occasionally but something we rarely eat. I am guessing that the pizza shop in the closest town may now be open again as they have outside tables, but in this weather they can keep it. It just keeps raining! Have a good day, Cheers Diane

  5. There are a lot of clams in the pasta!
    So generous. 🙂

I love my blood cockles in my laksa mee too.
Do you think we copied the Italian or they copied us?

  6. That spring chicken sure does look good.
