Three X Co must have been reading my mind when they came up with their latest cocktail collection – The Sanity in a Can Series. In my pandemic coping strategies article, I was just saying how booze delivery is in my personal survival toolkit, and now Three X Co has a whole menu dedicated to the soundness of mind.

I am continuously impressed with KL’s food and beverage industry’s creativity. The beautifully designed packaging on Three X Co’s latest canned cocktail collection is a prime example. Priced at RM50 for a 330ml can, they are the perfect size for sharing (or not).

There are seven cocktails in the Sanity in a Can Series by Three X Co. The team is constantly experimenting and coming out with new and exciting flavours. So, it would be wise to follow them on Facebook or Instagram to keep up with the latest.

You Are My Sunshine

Starting floral and refreshing, You Are My Sunshine is on a base of Absolute vodka. The spirit is complemented by chrysanthemum tea, lychee and calamansi, giving a fresh fruitiness to the profile and some mild honeyed notes.

Blushing Melon

Blushing Melon composes John Jameson, wild elderflower, winter melon tea and citrus into a floral and refreshing beverage. It’s given a moderate sweetness due to the melon and lychee, which is nicely balanced by the gentle tartness of the citrus.

Halia Mania

Chivas 12 Years is the base of the Halia Mania. It’s backed up by pandan, Angostura bitters, citrus and ginger ale. There’s an attractive thread of spice in the drink softened by pandan. It departs with a warming feeling in the chest.

Hotel California

Channelling the Sunshine State, Hotel California brings a summer vibe with its ingredients of Malibu, cranberry and lemonade. This one is far too sweet for me, but my sweet-toothed Latino hubby loves the tropical flavours.

Sanity in a Can Series – Le Petit Prince

Le Petit Prince takes a regal turn with Martell Noblige, Earl Grey Tea, cassis, apple juice and fizz. It’s another that leans a little too much on the sweet side for me, but that is balanced with a slightly woody aftertaste and a touch of sour.

Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood might have more to fear than the Big Bad Wolf alone. This mix of Beefeater gin, Campari, hibiscus, passionfruit and ginger ale glides down all too easily, making it one dangerous concoction.

Old Curiosity

Old Curiosity does indeed sound like something grandma might make. Chivas 12 years, chrysanthemum, citrus and coke is one for late-night sipping.
