Wildseed Café 1-Altitude Melaka
We’re here for breakfast and can’t imagine a better start to the day with fresh sea breezes and water views framed by plentiful greenery on the 44th floor of 1-Altitude Melaka. Our pick is always al fresco, weather permitting. However, there are plenty of air-conditioned seats with equally pleasant views.
Menu
A healthy beginning is found in the Wildseed Super Food Salad (RM 25). This vibrant bowl is packed with sesame-crusted salmon tataki, baby spinach, blueberries, strawberries, walnuts, almonds, cherry tomatoes and chia seeds. It’s all dressed in a light and tangy yoghurt and soy milk guilt-free dressing.
Diners can choose their ‘Bagel Eggs Benny’ with either Salmon (RM 28) or Beef (RM 26). It’s a generous serving of toasted bagel halves topped with the protein of your choice, two sous-vide eggs, a creamy hollandaise sauce and dill. The bright yolks ooze at the touch of a fork, and the fresh baby spinach salad side is a welcome healthful balance.
Avo toast is a popular order across cafes worldwide. At Wildseed, it’s been bulked up with the addition of champignons in the Smashed Avocado with Mushrooms (RM 27). I’m not convinced you need avo and mushies on the one piece of toasted sourdough. However, some diners want it all. The marinated tomatoes, pea shoots, sautéed onions and yoghurt dressing make good companions.
Lastly, honouring its location, Wildseed Café offers a decadent Atas Kaya Toast (RM13). And elevated it is! Soft ciabatta is loaded with butter, kaya and gula Melaka. Desiccated coconut is crumbled over the top, and an expert sous-vide egg makes for an alluring dip.
Drinks Menu
Wildseed Café’s drinks menu includes a handful of espresso-based Lavazza coffees, juices, smoothies, and tea. Both our Latte (RM 10) and Cappuccino (RM 10) are well-made and well-priced. The Wildflower Latte (RM 14) adds a dollop of glam with its pretty fuchsia hibiscus powder.
There are also iced Matcha Lattes (RM 12) for green tea fans, juices and smoothies, such as the Mango Yoghurt Smoothie (RM 15), which is thick and sweet thanks to mango puree.
Reasons to visit Wildseed Cafe and Bistro, 1-Altitude Melaka: who doesn’t love sea views and breezes? Reasonably priced coffee; sweet tooths must try the Atas Kaya Toast.
