NEWEST® Skin Boosters KL – Astria Clinic Bangsar
Monica Tindall
Fifty is not far away, so I’m back at Astria Clinic in Bangsar in a race against time. Ageing powerfully rather than gracefully is the trend these days, and I want my skin to look just as healthy as my body. A few weeks back, I began a treatment plan with Dr. Jinly, starting with a signature facial, chemical peel, and Discovery PICO Laser. Encouraged by the results, I’ve returned to see what else she can help me with.
Dr Jinly suggests NEWEST® Skin Boosters as cutting-edge technology in skin improvement.
What are skin boosters?
Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve skin quality by enhancing hydration, elasticity, and texture. They’re different to dermal fillers, which primarily add volume. Instead, skin boosters deliver hyaluronic acid (HA) directly into the skin. This HA attracts and retains moisture, improving skin hydration and a more radiant appearance. The treatment is minimally invasive and can be used on various body areas, including the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.
How do NEWEST® skin boosters differ from what has previously been on the market?
I’ve tried several skin boosters, so I’m familiar with their function, effects, pain level, downtime and results. However, I’m curious to see what makes NEWEST® skin boosters unique.
NEWEST® skin boosters share some similarities with existing products in that they also use hyaluronic acid (HA) to enhance skin hydration and quality. However, in addition to HA, they also use fish sperm! Well, not quite – more precisely, they utilise polynucleotides, a component derived from trout gonad DNA, to stimulate collagen production and improve skin elasticity, hydration, and overall appearance. Unlike traditional skin boosters that rely solely on hyaluronic acid, NEWEST®’s formulation provides a more comprehensive solution.
Who are NEWEST® skin boosters suitable for?
NEWEST® skin boosters are suitable for those wanting to improve their skin quality. Ideal candidates include people who suffer from chronic dryness or dehydration, aging skin, and post-procedure care. Patients who have had other aesthetic treatments, such as laser resurfacing or chemical peels, can enhance and prolong the results with skin boosters. Aging, dehydration and other aesthetic treatments – that’s me! Tick, tick, tick! Even those with relatively healthy skin can use NEWEST® skin boosters as part of their regular skincare routine to maintain optimal skin health and appearance.
What conditions do they treat?
NEWEST® skin boosters treat fine lines and wrinkles by improving hydration and elasticity. They can also smooth out roughly textured skin. Dullness can be treated with enhanced hydration, creating a more radiant and glowing complexion. Acne scars, while not a primary focus, can benefit from reduced appearance.
What is the procedure and pain level?
After consulting with Dr. Jinly, who outlines the procedure and answers all of my questions, my skin is cleaned, and numbing cream is applied. The numbing cream is left on for about 20 minutes to be effective.
Dr Jinly then marks my face lightly with a plan for the injections. Although my skin feels pretty numb, the initial pricks still cause a certain level of pain. You can request lidocaine be added to the solution, which I find reduces the discomfort to almost zero (highly recommend). She uses a fine needle to inject microdroplets across the entire face—maybe 100 or more tiny pricks.
As she works, a nurse distracts me with a tiny vibrating device on my face and applies pressure to the injection spots to reduce swelling. Once the procedure is complete, an antibiotic ointment is applied.
What is the downtime?
Immediately after, my face is red and bumpy. I’m not in any state to be seen in public. I wear a mask in the Grab home and spend the night in. The next day I’m back at work, although I continue to wear a mask because I have lots of little dots – injections marks – on my face that are obvious. I have sensitive skin so go red and bruise easily. A small bruise under my eye takes several days to disappear.
By day two, I’m no longer wearing a mask and cover the light dots and bruise with concealer. A week later I’m completely healed and my skin is glowing!
What aftercare is needed?
There’s not a lot needed in terms of aftercare for NEWEST® skin boosters, but doing a few small things can decrease downtime. Patients should avoid touching or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours to prevent infection and ensure even distribution of the product. Drinking plenty of water can help enhance the effects of the hyaluronic acid. Avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol and excessive sun exposure for a few days is also said to reduce the likelihood of bruising.
What results can you expect?
Ten days following the treatment I find a noticeable improvement in my skin’s hydration, texture, and overall quality. My friends say I have a glow. Online reviews say the results can last for up to six months, and that ideally you’d have three sessions for optimal results and then six monthly maintenance from then on. Time will tell.
What is the cost of NEWEST® skin boosters in Malaysia?
The price of NEWEST® skin boosters vary according to amount used and number of sessions. Dr Jinly says most people see optimal results with three sessions. As such, she provides readers of The Yum List a limited-time offer of three sessions with savings up to RM1500!
Would I do NEWEST® skin boosters again?
The most telling question is: Would I do NEWEST® skin boosters again? If price were not a concern, I’d sign up for all three NEWEST® skin boosters sessions. After just one treatment, my skin appeared healthier and more radiant. If you have sensitive skin like me, you’d want to do them at least ten days before a big event to ensure any tiny marks or bruises have disappeared. If not too much is happening, you can wear a mask for a day or two, then cover any darker spots with a little concealer. The team at Astria Clinic know what they’re doing and have a great benefit for Yum List readers, so it would be my clinic of choice for a repeat visit.
Reasons to visit to try NEWEST® skin boosters at Astria Clinic: great for dehydrated and aging skin or use post-other aesthetic treatments for longer, sustained results; pain made minimal with the inclusion of licodaine; gives the skin a healthy, hydrated glow; special price for readers of The Yum List with savings up to RM1500!
