Ditch the chaos, embrace the quiet. Heyscape Tiny Cabins in Denmark offer a stylish, off-grid escape where grand intentions meet miniature footprints. Your soul (and Instagram feed) will thank you.

Tiny in size but grand in intention, Heyscape’s cabins nudge us towards a slower, simpler, more deliberate way of life. In Denmark (Western Australia, not Scandinavia), we swap traffic noise for birdsong, deadlines for tree lines, and come away wondering if less really can be more.
Heyscape Tiny Cabins – Denmark
In a world where bigger often means busier, the quiet appeal of the tiny home movement is beginning to whisper a little louder. Downsizing isn’t just about cutting clutter or living within one’s means—it’s about recalibrating priorities. Fewer walls, yes, but more light. Less noise, but deeper rest. And for those of us tempted by the minimalist dream but not quite ready to sell off the sofa, a stay with Heyscape offers a risk-free taste of the lifestyle. Their off-grid, design-forward cabins are scattered across Western Australia’s most idyllic landscapes, and the newest trio—Sea, Salt and Sand—have just landed in Denmark, on the windswept, soul-stirring coast of the Great Southern. We checked into Sand, the Classic Cabin, and checked out—momentarily, at least—from the chaos of modern life.

Location
Some escapes feel remote because they’re hard to get to. Others, like Heyscape Denmark, feel remote because they’re exactly where you need to be. Set on Raintree, an 880-acre coastal farm bordering the wild beauty of William Bay National Park, this is a rare chance to stay amid nature without giving up the things that make a getaway genuinely restorative—comfort, design, and maybe even a truffle or two.
The farm itself is a story worth staying for. Home to regenerative cattle pastures, truffle groves, freshwater marron, and even a distillery, Raintree is a living, breathing example of sustainable luxury. It’s also where you’ll find The Dam, an award-winning restaurant and paddock-to-plate dining experience that makes a compelling argument for lingering long after lunch. Menus here are grounded in what’s grown and raised on site, from earthy truffle butter and rich marbled beef to honey and oils spun from the property’s own flora.
Beyond the farm gates, the Denmark region tempts with forested walking tracks, pristine beaches, and scenery that has us recalculating our future postcode. William Bay National Park is just next door, home to local icons Greens Pool, Elephant Rocks, and Mad Fish Bay, where turquoise waters and granite boulders create postcard scenes at every turn. If you’re the active sort, the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail wind right through the area. Prefer your downtime a little more… horizontal? The view from your cabin deck works just fine.

Sand, The Classic Cabin
Heyscape Denmark offers three secluded cabins—Sea, Salt, and Sand—each designed for two guests and placed to maximise privacy and connection to the landscape. All three come with outdoor soaking tubs, allowing for long, hot baths under open skies. Sea is the most spacious, with a king bed and a slightly larger layout for those who like a little more room to stretch. Salt is the only pet-friendly option, ideal if your idea of a perfect escape includes a wagging tail. Sand, where we stayed, is the classic cabin: a compact and efficient retreat with everything we need to unplug, unwind, and maybe wonder if downsizing could be our next big move.
Despite their size, these tiny homes pack a serious sustainability punch. Each cabin runs entirely off-grid, powered by solar panels and supplied with filtered rainwater. There’s no Wi-Fi, limited reception, and just enough signal (from the balcony) to post a sunset photo—before returning to the business of doing nothing, beautifully.
At first glance, Sand looked little more than a stylish shed tucked into the hillside. However, once inside, we were inspired by the use of the compact space. Every square metre was considered, every detail designed to soothe.
The queen-sized bed is front and centre (literally), perfectly positioned to catch the morning light or an afternoon storm rolling in across the paddocks. It’s dressed in natural cottons and flanked by windows, so we could wake with the sun and sleep beneath the stars—all without lifting our heads from the pillow.
There’s a small but smartly laid-out kitchenette stocked with coffee and tea essentials, salt, pepper and olive oil. The chargeable mini-bar includes house-made goodies like The Dam’s hemp seed dukkah, earthy truffle oil, Raintree wines, CBD spirits and a cheeky pre-bottled cocktail selection for those who like their nightcaps farm-to-glass. You can also pre-order snack or produce boxes, which we highly recommend. We got the charcuterie and cheese box and delighted in nibbling at sunset, wine in hand. After a highly satisfying midday meal at The Dam, it was all we needed in the evening. If you prefer to cook, a two-burner stove, mini fridge and Denmark’s bumper farmgate scene await.
The ensuite bathroom is minimalist but functional, with clean lines, natural textures and that distinct sense of “doing our bit.” It’s a gentle reminder that living off-grid can be both stylish and sustainable. And while the indoors are polished and cosy, it’s the outdoor soaking tub that might just win me over completely (if it were summer and I weren’t such a cold frog). Positioned on the deck and open to the sky, it’s a flawless spot for watching the clouds roll by, the stars come out, or simply letting time stretch, uninterrupted.
A pair of outdoor chairs, a bar table and stools, BBQ and a firepit extend the living space beyond the walls, making room for morning coffee with birdsong or a glass of red beneath the Milky Way. There’s no Wi-Fi, no TV, and very little reception, which, depending on your state of mind, may feel like a challenge or an invitation. Either way, Sand encourages us to look up, slow down and simply be.

Things to Do in the Denmark Area
We could, quite reasonably, spend our entire stay at Heyscape doing very little—and doing it extremely well. A sunrise soak in the tub, admiring the wild coastline, coffee on the deck watching the roos hop by, and a slow amble past the grazing cattle might be all the itinerary we need. But, coming so far, it would be a shame to miss Denmark’s natural riches.
Just beyond our cabin, William Bay National Park has a coastline that looks like it’s been Photoshopped. Greens Pool is the hero shot—calm, clear, and ringed with granite boulders that shelter swimmers from the Southern Ocean swell. A short walk away, Elephant Rocks is equally photo-worthy, with massive rock formations resembling a herd mid-wade. Mad Fish Bay is less known but worth a wander for its otherworldly rock pools and sense of solitude.
Adventure-seekers can jump on the Bibbulmun Track or the Munda Biddi Trail, both of which link directly to the Raintree property. Whether on foot or by bike, we find stretches of ancient forest, native wildflowers, and sweeping views over rolling farmland and distant coastline. The Denmark–Nornalup Heritage Trail offers a gentler path for walkers looking to soak up the scenery at a slower pace.
Back at base, Raintree’s own offerings are worth exploring. Book ahead for a long, lazy lunch at The Dam, where the paddock-to-plate ethos translates into dishes that are grounded and refined. Some of our faves are the marron plucked from nearby freshwater ponds, and the hand-crafted botanical cocktails. Guests can also arrange unique on-site experiences like a Marron Catch and Cook, or sample some of the estate’s artisan produce (vodka, truffle oil, honey) from the cabin pantry—no need to stray far when the good stuff is right at your door.
And when the day winds down? Pour something local, sink into that outdoor tub, and let the frogs and kookaburras do the evening’s entertainment.

Stay Like a Pro Tips
Heyscape cabins are designed for minimal fuss and maximum connection to the landscape, but a little prep goes a long way. Here’s how to make your stay smooth, satisfying, and just the right amount of smug.
Pack light, but wisely. You won’t need much—just layers for changing weather, sturdy shoes for exploring nearby trails, and perhaps a good book or two. The kitchenette includes basic cooking gear, but if you’re planning anything more ambitious than pasta, bring your own pantry staples. There’s no microwave or oven, so think simple meals that play well with a gas stove or outdoor fire.
Download before you disconnect. Reception is limited, and there’s no Wi-Fi, so download maps, playlists, or podcasts in advance. Navigation is straightforward (detailed instructions arrive via email before check-in). Still, it’s always good to have directions saved offline, just in case.
Bring a USB cord: With limited electricity, there are no regular power points, only a couple of USB outlets for charging devices. Bring a USB cord, a power bank, or both to ensure a fully charged battery.
Order a pantry pack. When booking, consider pre-selecting a few local treats—truffle oil, raw honey, and bottled cocktails are a cut above your usual minibar. You can also request firewood if you’re visiting during the cooler months and want to enjoy the fire pit under the stars.
Respect the off-grid setup. Water is filtered rainwater, and power comes from solar panels, so you need to be mindful of what you use. It’s all simple (clear instructions are provided), and part of the beauty of the experience is understanding how little you actually need.
Check yourself in. There’s no reception desk—just a well-timed text and keypad entry. It’s seamless, contactless, and quietly empowering. Arrive any time from 4 pm, and don’t worry if you’re running late—the stars will be waiting. (Although, it’s probably best to arrive before the sun goes down as there are no street lamps here to guide the way!)
