Embracing Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara’s identity of “art, gastronomy and wellness,” the hotel recently introduced The Craftsmanship of Gold initiative. Launching with an exhibition of glimmering artworks, backed up by a Taste of Gold Afternoon Tea, and continuing with a Glow Like Gold facial, the brand appeals to the age-old desire for power and beauty associated with this precious metal.
Contemporary Art Exhibition
From July 2 until September 1, 2019, the team at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara is exhibiting the works of South Korean artist, Kim Il Tae. Recognized as pioneering a technique to paint 24k gold on canvas, his work has received international acclaim. Unlike existing practices of gold leaf or gold foil, Kim Il Tae’s method works with pure gold.
The stunning pieces can be viewed in the hotel’s sprawling lobby. You might consider a drink at Le Bar as you contemplate the creations (unfortunately, the Taste of Gold Afternoon Tea has already ended), or continue up to the spa to see if the power of gold will put some glow into your complexion.
Glow Like Gold – So SPA’s Gold Facial
Favoured for centuries as a radiance booster, white gold has long been used in beauty routines. As such, and in conjunction with The Craftsmanship of Gold activities, the team at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara’s So SPA have developed the Glow Like Gold – Gold Rejuvenating Facial.
Along with a gold mask, the facial uses natural ingredients including honey and cucumber to cleanse, tone, firm and moisturize the skin. The wisdom of French technique is said to assist in plumping, smoothing and reducing the appearance of fine lines.
Both hubby and I indulge in the gold facial pampering and find professionalism and service, as always, exceptional. The gold facial suits all skin types with both of our vastly different complexions feeling soft, lifted and refreshed following the treatment.
The Glow Like Gold – Gold Rejuvenating Facial at So SPA is priced at RM360 nett, lasts for 60 minutes and is available until September 30, 2019. Of course, it’s advised to allow some time both prior and following your appointment to relax in the calming facilities of the spa.
