Openings in Chinatown KL During the CMCO

As businesses and consumers try to find balance in reopening, restaurants in Chinatown have figured out a happy medium. Several have opened their doors for dine-in following the strict SOPs set out for the CMCO, and additionally, offer special menus for takeaway and delivery. For those of you wanting to take advantage of no traffic and actual availability of parking spaces, here we highlight:

The Attic Bar

With skyline vistas, The Attic Bar is hidden away on the rooftop of the Travel Hub Hostel. It has a friendly Chinatown vibe with craft cocktails and an Italian-style food menu to match. They reopened May 4th and are operating from 4 pm until 10 pm daily. Enticing regulars to return, they have one-for-one cocktail specials between 4 and 8 pm for the rest of May.

The team at The Attic Bar has taken additional precautionary actions on top of the strict measures required by the government to ensure the safety of its customers and employees. Temperature checks, social distancing seating arrangements and sanitisation of the premises are some of the ways they ensure strict compliance with the standard operating procedures. All guests are provided with sanitizing gel, wipes and disinfecting spray upon request and tissue for opening and closing the bathroom doors.

For those preferring to stay home, you can order delivery by contacting them at [email protected] or +60123938627. Promotions and menus here: www.atticbarkl.com

REXKL

REXKL had been prepping for a new concept prior to the MCO called The Back Ground. The name refers to the revamped food hall within the REXKL premise, which is the back portion of the former cinema car park on the ground floor. To ‘spice’ things up, REXKL added four new concepts to its existing food kiosks – Stellar Coffee, Puro Wine Bar, Piu Kee Dumpling and Ticklish Ribs n’ Wiches. Helmed by the former chef from Cho Cha Foodstore, Chef Aziz, they take on Malaysian local delights with a contemporary twist. Meals are made from scratch in the well-ventilated kitchen.

Open from 10 am to 10 pm, visitors can opt to dine-in, takeaway, or request for delivery (maximum delivery range to 20km). Social distancing measures are implemented with seats two-metres apart. The delivery menu features a range of set meals. Homemade condiments, pre-packed meals, and prepped ingredients are also available for you to put together a quick and tasty meal. More information here.

  1. Pick up time for the F&B. Support them by ordering takeaway. Dine in is not that preferred unless necessary.

  2. Good that they are re-opening, hopefully, they get enough customers to help them get back on their feet again. Times are hard. Love the enamel crockery at REXKL.

  3. It is lovely that businesses are rethinking the way they operate and providing take away menus

  4. I can’t wait till our restaurants open here…
    So lucky you!
