Best Views in KL
Here we track down some of the best views in KL with some of the city’s top rooftop restaurants and bars.
Vertigo
With a 280-degree balcony wrapping around the rooftop, there is not a bad seat in the house. As the word got out about this uninterrupted view of KL’s skyline, it soon became the place to dazzle visitors, friends and dates.
Fuego – Best Views in KL
Fuego is a well-known dining destination in Kuala Lumpur, boasting both stunning panoramic views of KL City Centre and equally sensational Latin-American influenced cuisine and beverages.
Blackbyrd
Sweeping views of the city centre, uninterrupted by construction, gives Blackbyrd KL a unique perspective of the skyline. The space is strewn in natural light during the day. As the evening sets in, the lights of the surrounding towers mirror the attractively lit bar. Deep green features on studded leather bench seats and bar stools, and metallic lamps with bold geometrics foster an art deco feel.
Trace
Trace sits on level 40 of Element Kuala Lumpur, in open-air grace and sweeping views of the city centre. Eye-catching paintings and sculptures welcome guests in splashy tones. A seat by the window reveals the bustle of late afternoon traffic and the cranes of our ever-changing skyline against the Petronas Twin Towers.
Thirty8 – Best Views in KL
There are views, and then there are VIEWS. Many restaurants in KLCC can boast views of the park, the twin towers, the skyline. But how many can boast views of ALL of these, through floor-to-ceiling windows at eye level with the Petronas Twin Towers’ sky bridge? Only the Grand Hyatt’s Thirty8.
Blue
The 51st floor of EQ conceals Blue, a gorgeously appointed bespoke speakeasy cocktail lounge behind a false elevator door. Views of the towers unfold in floor-to-ceiling windows. Glittery chandeliers light up the room and live music plays from a small stage five nights per week. Slipping outside, there are more seating and more views, layers of lounge areas arranged around curves and staircases.
Wet Deck
Commanding the deck of the 12th floor of W Kuala Lumpur, WET Deck KL is known as the place to party, to see and be seen. The atmosphere is lively with its endless list of internationally acclaimed guests, craft cocktails, chic setting and happening nightlife scene. But, most impressive of all is its postcard-perfect view of the city centre.
SkyBar
KL’s original rooftop bar, SkyBar KL on level 33 of Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur, maintains one of the premier views and late-night party vibes in KL. The pool dramatically occupies the slender two-story space. Yet, more impressively eyes are drawn to the gleaming Petronas twin towers, which are the real stars of the show.
El Lido Rooftop Bar – Best Views in KL
With stellar vistas of the sinking sun on one side and the lights twinkling in the city on the other, this three-level rooftop bar in Bangsar has endless views.
Cielo
Perched atop the Vida Apartment building and lavishly spread across the top two levels of the residential tower in Bukit Bintang sits Cielo. We recommend going around 7 pm to catch the dusk light and spectacular views over the most iconic elements of the KL skyline.
Flying Monkeys
Located on the eighth floor of Tribeca, the bar overlooks the constantly evolving Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) development and its glowing tower.
Roofino
On the edge of KLCC, thirty-floor stories up, Roofino offers 360-degree views. It is ideally positioned with the city laid out on one side, and the mountain ranges stretching out into the distance on the other. Whether you want to watch the fiery golden sun setting over skyscrapers, or the next wet season thunder and lightning storm roll in, this is the place to do it – and with affordable menu pricing, you can afford to indulge more than just a little.
Marini’s on 57 – Best Views in KL
For an up-close encounter with the Petronas Twin Towers, Marini’s on 57, is challenging to beat. Benefiting from an open deck as well as glass walls and ceiling, you can’t help but gaze from floor 57 all the way up to the 88th and then back down to the 42nd below to the sky bridge connecting the two. The bad news is; there’s a dress code. Good news is; they have excellent happy hours from 5 pm – 9 pm daily.
Nobu
You can’t get much closer to the Twin Towers than with a table at Nobu. Dining here feels as though you could almost reach out and touch the iconic building if the windows were left open a smudge.
